Aurora Gradient background

Soft luminous blob fields with white-hot cores: lava-lamp light, not a blurred shape.

Aurora grows soft, glowing blobs with bright cores and lets them swirl into ribbons, like lava-lamp light or the northern lights. Grain keeps the wide gradients from banding. Choose the core, middle, edge and ground colours.

Aurora Gradient Background questions.

What is an aurora gradient background?

An aurora gradient background is a soft, glowing mix of colours that flows like the northern lights, used as a modern backdrop for posters, covers and UI.

How do I make an aurora gradient background in Photoshop?

Open Filter Archive from the Plugins menu and choose Aurora from the Backgrounds group. It draws from nothing, so you don't need a photo. Start from a preset such as Acid Aurora or Single Stroke, adjust it while the preview updates, then press Apply to add it as a new layer.

Can I use it in Affinity or Figma?

Yes. Aurora runs in Affinity 3 on Mac and Windows, from Filters, then Plugins, then Filter Archive, and in Figma through the Figma Community, where generators work with nothing selected. One licence covers Photoshop, Affinity and Figma.

Which presets come with Aurora?

3 presets: Acid Aurora, Single Stroke and Nebula. Every setting stays editable after you pick one, and you can save a stack of filters to use again.

Can I change the colours?

Yes. Aurora has Core, Mid, Edge and Ground colour controls, so you can set them to any colour, including your own palette.
